Sometimes I wonder what I've gotten myself into. I started my endurance journey in 2007 with a goal of completing a century. Never would I have imagined that I would get my family into the wonderful world of exercise. Some have jumped the bandwagon to endurance training with two training for their first half marathon and one for his first century. In addition, several aunts and uncles have joined a gym taking classes offered such as spin, bikram yoga, zumba, and pilates and a sibling reconnected with a sport that she enjoyed as a child, tennis. As a result, cholesterol and diabetes levels have lowered, self-esteem has been rejuvenated, and one happy family has evolved.

I am a living testament on how one individual can make an impact on a family's health. My message to you is to take the initiative in changing your family's lifestyle. After all, the body is a terrible thing to waste.
